We are currently looking for a Bank Healthcare Assistant within HMP YOI Exeter, a category B Male Prison located in the centre of Exeter.
Working as a Bank Healthcare Assistant offers you flexibility and workplace variety. You would also be assisting the wider permanent team, covering for planned and unplanned absences.

What will you be doing?

As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages such as ECG, urine analysis and blood pressure checks. You could also be involved with phlebotomy (if trained to do so) and assessment, treatment and the evaluation of patients’ care. You will support and assist patients with the activities of daily living, work with the Pharmacy Team to help them fulfil their daily tasks.

About you

We are on the lookout for Healthcare Assistants who have experience of working within a Primary Care setting, including GP surgeries and hospitals. You will also have experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team and have excellent communication skills.

You’ll hold an NVQ 2/3 in Health and Social Care and must have a willingness to undertake training in Mental Health Awareness, suicide prevention, self-harm and ACCT procedures as well as Health Promotion and screening.

The rate of pay is a flat rate of £11.36 per hour, working ad hoc shifts as and when required.
