HMP Isle of Wight was opened in April 2009; it was formed by the clustering of three former establishments HMP Parkhurst, HMP Albany and HMP Camp Hill. HMP Isle of Wight's present role is a category B male training prison. The prison holds approximately 1100 prisoners on two sites with a central administration.
Practice Plus Group provide GP and nursing primary healthcare services, primary mental healthcare, sexual health, substance misuse, health promotion, podiatry and physiotherapy services.
What will you be doing?
As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, the General Practitioner will provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient’s requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management. You will also provide a highly specialist resource to other healthcare staff, patients and carers and have active involvement in clinical governance/effectiveness activities.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:-
• Experience of working as a General Practitioner
•Willingness to provide mentoring and support to all other Clinicians where appropriate
•Evidence of continuing professional development
•Knowledge of methods of developing clinical quality assurance and evidence based practice
•Evidence of up to date knowledge and skills
•Evidence of ability to maintain and monitor high standards of care
•Evidence of audit activities
•Ability to communicate with people of all capabilities and attitudes
• Inclusion in the GMC Register
• On a CCG Medical Performance List
• RCGP pt 1 (or willing to undertake)
