Head of Healthcare – HMP Wormwood Scrubs
• Salary of up to £62,500 - depending on experience
• £4,000 Car allowance
• An annual bonus scheme of 10% is also included in the package.
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic healthcare Leader responsible for the delivery of healthcare in HMP Wormwood Scrubs. Wormwood Scrubs is a male local Category B jail with an operational capacity of 1279 prisoners. Based in the borough of Hammersmith & Fulham HMP Wormwood Scrubs is one of the largest male prisons in the country and presents an exciting opportunity to provide healthcare in a unique setting.
As the Head of Healthcare you will be responsible for the pro-active general management of a full range of primary care, mental health & substance misuse services whilst maintaining strong partnerships with prison Governors, commissioners and other key stakeholders. In addition you will be responsible for delivering agreed contractual requirements and targets and managing the service within its financial framework as well as maintaining agreed standards of service, leading, motivating and developing staff. The role includes responsibility for all aspects of personnel, financial reporting, IM&T and general management of the healthcare establishment and being the CQC Registered Manager.
You will need to demonstrate strong leadership and have experience of managing healthcare services. A firm understanding of the health inequalities faced by those in detained settings and a commitment to service improvement is essential. In addition you will need to demonstrate significant competence in partnership working to deliver healthcare across complex systems and be able to work autonomously. Receive an annual salary of up to £62,500 + 10% Bonus + £4,000 Car Allowance depending on experience. What do we need from you so you can do the job?
As the Head of Healthcare you will be responsible for the pro-active general management of the Establishment, maintaining the strategic direction and delivering the agreed contractual requirements, targets and managing the unit within its financial framework. Maintaining agreed standards of service, and leading, motivating and developing staff. This role also includes responsibility for all aspects of personnel, financial reporting, IM&T and general management of the healthcare establishment and being the CQC Registered Manager.
You will be able to provide evidence of your leadership ability and have undertaken management training. With an understanding of clinical governance and managing shifts, you'll have an awareness of risk assessments and managing budgets. RNA or RMN qualifications are desirable, as is custodial or juvenile care setting experience.
