Are you looking for some additional working hours or to gain experience working in a custodial setting? Have you ever thought about working within a prison?
We are currently looking for a Bank Primary Nurse within HMP Stafford, based in Staffordshire.
Working as a Bank Primary Care Nurse offers you flexibility and workplace variety. You would also be assisting the wider permanent team, covering for planned and unplanned absences.

Our model of care is our Wellbeing Approach – an integrated, comprehensive approach in recognition of the fact prisoners are a socially-excluded group with healthcare needs which are complex and often associated with poor outcomes. It adopts the premise no single health/wellbeing factor can be taken in isolation of other motivational issues which might impact a person’s care.
What will you be doing?
As a Bank Primary Care Nurse (RGN) within our primary care team, you can expect to be involved in everything from clinical triage to carrying out nurse-led clinics; reviewing patient histories, undertaking relevant examinations and tests, organising any necessary treatment and referring patients to other healthcare professionals when you need to. Across everything you do, you’ll maintain accurate records and provide the kind of helpful, empathetic support that will make every patient feel at ease.
If you are shortlisted, you will be contacted by our Internal Recruiter for this role. They will submit your CV to the hiring manager and in turn will arrange an interview for you if the hiring manager feels that you are suitable for the job.
The rate of pay is up to £19.10 per hour, with enhanced rate for nights / weekend / bank holidays up to £21.02, working ad hoc shifts as and when required.
Due to an ongoing internal issue with our website, if you currently work for Practice Plus Group and are trying to apply via our intranet, please contact our internal recruiter, Amelia Smith, by email (email@example.com).
The job advert will close as soon as sufficient applications have been received. Please apply for this job as soon as you can, if interested.
