Are you collaborative, caring and compassionate?

Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work - if you’re looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day, then this is the place to be.

Practice Plus Group are Health in Justice Market leader, providing healthcare services to offenders across the country. Our model of care is our Wellbeing Approach – an integrated, comprehensive approach in recognition of the fact prisoners are a socially-excluded group with healthcare needs which are complex and often associated with poor outcomes. It adopts the premise no single health/wellbeing factor can be taken in isolation of other motivational issues which might impact a person’s care.

HMP Whatton is a Category C men's prison, located in the village of Whatton, near Bingham in Nottinghamshire. With an operational capacity of 800, HMP Whatton is based approximately 20 minutes of Grantham, 25 minutes of Newark, 30 minutes from Nottingham and Melton Mowbray, 45 minutes from Lincoln and 50 minutes of Derby by car.

To ensure the continued quality of care at HMP Whatton we’re looking for a Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD) to support us.

Interested in clinical development?

We could give you the opportunity to develop in to a specialist role of your interest and benefit to the service i.e. CBT, ANP, BBV, sexual health, ILS (intermediate life support), health promotion, RCGP and long term condition courses.

What do we need from you so you can do the job?

This may include the coordination of care of patients and liaising with other members of the multi-disciplinary team where necessary.

You will provide outstanding evidence based care, listening and acting on patient feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them. Focusing on both planned and unplanned care.
