Practice Plus Group are Health in Justice Market leader, providing healthcare services to offenders across the country. Our model of care is our Wellbeing Approach – an integrated, comprehensive approach in recognition of the fact prisoners are a socially-excluded group with healthcare needs which are complex and often associated with poor outcomes. It adopts the premise no single health/wellbeing factor can be taken in isolation of other motivational issues which might impact a person’s care.
What will you be doing?
As a member of the wider management team, your role as the Primary Care Clinical Lead will be responsible for providing the day to day clinical and operational management of the integrated healthcare team, contributing to the strategic direction of the service. There will be an expectation for the post holder to lead/contribute to clinical and consumer audits. You'll be responsible to the Service Managers, to ensure the management of the service meets its contractual obligations.
What do we need from you?
You will be a Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with a passion for learning and development, as well as having the initiative to bring new ideas and opinions on how to improve the healthcare services.
Being a leadership role, you will model a culture of compassion, courage and competence. The role will include providing support and mentorship at point of delivery, drawing the best from our staff to improve the quality of care received at HMP Portland.

This is a permanent, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week.
HMP YOI Portland is based on the Isle of Portland off the coast of Weymouth. It is approximately 7 miles from the centre of Weymouth. The prison is a category C adult /young offender’s prison and houses up to 530 prisoners, all with varying sentence lengths.
