To ensure the continued quality of care at HMP Channings Wood we’re looking for a Nurse to join our Substance Misuse team.
About the Job
As a Nurse within the Integrated Substance Misuse team, we will train you to carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to service users. While we will equip you with the knowledge understanding you will come with a commitment to recovery and a person-centered approach. Across everything you do, you’ll maintain accurate records and provide the kind of helpful, empathetic support that will make every patient feel at ease.
The Job Requirements
As an RGN/RMN with valid NMC registration and if you have experience working with substance misusers this will be an advantage but is not required. You may even be a student nurse close to graduation with a keen interest in substance misuse. Once you are fully trained the post will require you to work autonomously. We will support you with your continuing professional development and you will have a real passion for taking your skills further.
Self-motivated, you’ll show plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations. Beyond that, you should have a flexible approach and the ability to achieve changing priorities.

Receive an annual salary of up to £33,000 depending on experience.

This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week on a 7-day rota.
The salary for this role is up to £33,000 FTE per annum - dependent on experience.
