We're looking for a Primary Care Mental Health Nurse to join our team within the healthcare department at HMP Huntercombe. This will involve working inside the prison, within healthcare and on the prison wings.
HMP Huntercombe is a category C adult male prison for a foreign national population in order to support government priorities on the deportation of foreign national offenders. HMP Huntercombe is situated in Nuffield in Oxfordshire within the North Wessex Downs ares of outstanding natural beauty. It's located within 15 minutes of Henley on Thames, 30 minutes of Reading and 35 minutes of High Wycombe.
Healthcare is provided:
07:45 – 18:30, weekdays
08:30 - 16:30, weekends
HMP Huntercombe does not offer 24 hour healthcare and as such there are no night shifts.

In return for your hard work you will...
Receive an annual salary of up to £34,000 FTE - dependent on experience. Pro-rata for part-time applications.

What do we need from you so you can do the job?
You will be a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse with a real passion for developing your clinical skills in an environment that is ever changing. You’ll have a flexible approach working within a team that encourage new ideas and opinions on how to improve the service. If you are self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations, then this could be the right role for you!
You will also be working as part of a larger multi-disciplinary team, alongside the primary care and pharmacy teams.
New to prison healthcare?
Do not worry... you will be supported and mentored throughout your first 6 months and beyond with Practice Plus Group by experienced teams of highly skilled nurses and practitioners as well as management.

This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. Healthcare operates 7 days a week. There will be a requirement for some weekend work as well.
